Turnerjoy began during the winter of 1998 in a small
suburban town just out-side of Chicago where all of
the members grew up and attended the same high
school. Turnerjoy spent their formative years
listening to college radio and experiencing live
music. It was the poignant story telling and
thoughtfully carved slices of rhythm and melody in
college radio music in the mid and late eighties that
inspired the creation of Turnerjoy and helped to form
its music into what it is today.
