The Hurricane riddled year of 1995 started with the headline "THE DESTRUCTIVE PATH OF ALLISON!" Soon afterwards, a five piece band from Atlanta, Georgia was born. Path of Allyson's sound is very melodic and dynamic, weaving a textured canvas for the ear and mind. Comparable to Radiohead, The Psychedelic Furs, Kent, and edgy American/Brit Pop, POA is electric and sexy! Path of Allyson formed early in the year of 1995 via mutual friends and Atlanta's Creative Loafing classifieds. After the first practice, it was evident that with their talent, song writing ability, and chemistry, Path of Allyson would soon be at the top of the growing music scene in Atlanta.
On vocals & guitar, Stephen Jordan's biggest influence has been The Velvet Underground, and has fronted various bands around Atlanta.
Bassist Daniel Taylor has been playing bass guitar for nine years, professionally for six, and considers Mike Mills, Aaron Whisnant, and David J. a few of his biggest influences.
Guitarist Trey Tidwell has been classically trained in guitar and voice, composing and arranging commercial projects in the Atlanta area. REM, The Church and Radiohead are three of his biggest inspirations.
Wesley Botts guitars, samples, and vocals add another textured demension to POA. Wesley Botts has played with several bands in Birmingham, and has also earned a degree in sound engineering at Full Sail, in Orlando, Florida.
Wesley has played guitar for ten years, influences ranging from Jane's Addiction to Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Reeves, the newest member on drums brings out the textured beats. Billy has been playing professionally for six years around the Atlanta music scene. Billy sites Pink Floyd, Rush, and Yes his biggest influences.
Path of Allyson's songs possess an inescapable melodic quality which, when combined with strong hooks and a signature groove, makes for a very unique package. Each member has extensive performing experience and brings to the stage all the energy and intensity demanded by an audience. The styles and influences of each member, though different, find a common ground within the music of Path of Allyson. Give them a listen, and the music will speak for itself!
