Issue #2

First off...

It isn't official, but I am considering adding a "greeting card" function to the site.  If so, I will have bands/fans/whoever design artwork to be used.  It ties-into GZMN since midi files would be able to play as the message is opened/read.  If this is the case, I will want artists from GZMN to submit their ORIGINAL tracks.  In return, you will get name recognition for your band.  The same goes with any artwork.  I think this will be a unique option if GZMN gets enough support.  If you are interested, please notify me of your interest.  DO NOT SEND ANY FILES YET.

Many of you are already chomping at the bit to be included on a compilation.  Be patient.  More will be revealed in the near future.  I want GZMN to not only be known for great compilations, but for CONCEPT DISCS as well.  Did your ears perk?  If so, that's great.  More details are to come.

I may be teaming-up with a site soon in order to bring a QUALITY chatroom back to GZMN.  When this happens, I want to have a GZMN day when everyone can pop in for a quick hi.  I will also want to do interviews in the future also through the room.  It will also double as a featured chat.  If you are interested in this, please send me a message.

I must remind you GZMN is a global meeting place for ALL styles of music.  This is why I must alert you to the sad music news.

Aaliyah was among 8 who lost their lives from a plane crash in the Bahamas.  In my opinion, she had a lot going for her.  There was a lot more to come and she is one of the few POSITIVE role-models in her genre.  When other female artists flaunted their physical assets, Aaliyah showed-off her vocal skills.  She also stayed out of the headlines by having a very private life.  She was only 22.  I know her musical style would evolve more with age - as all true artists do.

In respect for Aaliyah, fellow GZMN member Jeanine of the 2002 Unsigned tour- http://geocities.com/lilsinger_00/tour.html
is working on putting together a book to give to Aaliyah's family. It will contain letters, notes, cards, photos, poems and such. For the mailing address, please contact her at:

I'm sure you would all want me to list the same message if it was your favorite artist that lost their life unexpectedly.  Thanks for your support!

Be sure to also tell me how GZMN has helped you or your group.  You may even end-up in a future issue.

Keep on the lookout for issue #3, and keep submitting e-mails.  I love it when you write.
