more info:
Conceptualized in 1997, the members of nothinghead come from a variety of musical, performance and artistic backgrounds. Nothinghead's music is a catchy, quirky mix incorporating the best aspects of punk, hip-hop, classical, metal, funk, jazz and contemporary pop music. The songs are melodic, aggressive & funky, with complex rhythms, haunting melodies and dynamic textures.
Everybody involved with nothinghead- contributing ideas, adding artwork, attending shows - is a member. The band’s live performance incorporates the most modern technology available to create a complete audio-visual experience. Computer graphics created by all of the members flash by on monitors & television screens, complementing the energy of the music. It isn't just music for the ears. It's multimedia artistic expression for your MIND.
Every moment of every day, the members of nothinghead utilize opportunities to spread their philosophical message to the world. As depicted in Kurt Vonnegutt’s short story, "Welcome to the Monkey House," nothingheads reject the norms that fruitlessly attack only the symptoms of social illness, which cause people to suffer without affecting any real, positive change. Nothinghead believes that every individual needs to use his or her own mind to interpret religion, sex, death, god, violence, life, society and politics as it relates to his or her life.
