At 22-years-old, Karen Kosowski is clearly staking out her ground as both a passionate and emotive singer/songwriter and net-savvy businesswoman. Musically, she was a degree level concert pianist by the age of 17. Since then, her experiences have ranged everywhere from intimate coffeehouses, larger folk festivals (Winnipeg Folk Festival, Brandon Folk Festival), to high-profile industry showcases such as the 1999 Canadian Music Week International Conference, held in Toronto, Ontario, and the 1999 Prairie Music Week Conference, held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

2 Commercial Releases in 1999 : In 1999 Karen released 2 commerical recordings. In the early February came 'live at rogue's gallery', a full length release recorded in front of a live audience. In November, a 5 song EP entitled 'Planet' was released, and quickly garnered praise for both the strength of the songs and the touching emotional quality they possess. 'Planet' sold out on the day of release, prompting fans to place reserve orders through the Karenās website and through mailorder forms. Currently, both releases are distributed internationally through Indiepool, and in April 2000 'Planet' became the top internet seller for Indiepool Prairies. Both releases are receiving airplay from CBC Radio and campus radio across Canada.

Internet Queen ! Karen has taken the Internet by storm! In April 2000 Karen released a new track exclusively to the internet. Don't Tell My Heart experiments with lush electronic/ acoustic textures and is a preview of the exciting recent material that Karen has been working on with producer Aahz (Dave Fitches) from Toronto, Ontario. DTMH rose to #1 on the Dimension Music alternative charts (www.dmusic.com) and skyrocketed Karen's presence on the internet, which had been growing at a steady rate. Due to the success of this internet release, Karen recently released 2 Special CD Singles, available only through Mp3.com and her extensive website, which also offers a wealth of information. Karen's net-savvy marketing is attracting international attention in the form of radio stations, e-zines, conventional media and fans.
