De Allen CD cover

more info:

The De Allen line-up that recorded "Twisted Inside" includes founding member: Billy D'Allyn (Bass Guitar, Rhythm Guitar and Keyboards)
and former members: Meliesa McDonell (Lead and Backing Vocals)
Nick Ruiz (Lead and Rhythm Guitar)

To complete the new version of the band, Billy tapped the services of former Armada drummer/vocalist John Heald.

Since the recording of their latest release, De Allen added session keyboard specialist Jim Gorski and replaced departing McDonell with vocalist/guitarist Tim Dolbear. Meliesa is now busy with a solo project and session soundtrack recording, and De Allen wishes her well with her new endeavors.

Tim, who is a successful solo artist in his own right with 2 CD's behind him, was already familar with the band. He co-produced, mastered and engineered all the vocal tracks of De Allen's first effort in his own De La Bear studios. The rest of the recording was all done at Billy D' Allyn's Stage One studios. Both facilities are in the Los Angeles area.

De Allen's new CD, tenatively titled "Deceptions of Reality", is slated for release in July 2001. Most of the project has been completed, and has elements of the very diverse range of influences the band has. While still being commercial in nature, it will also show more of the progressive side of the band. De Allen hopes this will be a "something for everyone" release, without straying too far from what got them where they are today. LA area guitarists Steve Albright and Mike Fairbanks also work with De Allen in a songwriting capacity, and both have credits on the upcoming release.

In addition to this release the various members of the band will appear on one or more tribute CD's, and/or have solo projects being released in the coming few months. Billy is busy with an as yet untitled effort for the independent east coast label, Metal Mayhem Records (...also home for De Allen). Tim, when not recording other artists, is working on his latest effort for Digital-Vinyl Records. Nick is doing whatever studio work comes his way, as well as writing for his first solo album. There is no target date for that, however. John is busy with the re-issues of Armada, his former Detroit area based band. They had 3 studio releases between 1985 and 1989. He is also recording tracks for his solo project "Hidden Agenda", as well as helping Billy with his project.

Both Tim and Billy have also been mixing and/or remastering other projects, over 10 between them in 2000-01, for a number of record labels.
