Everyone is talking about Boogie Fever!!! Founded in the summer of 1998 in the Inland Empire, Jeff Stone had an idea for a 70's tribute dance band that was a little "different" from the current crop of 70's retro bands that were springing up in the Southern California music scene. Formed from remaining members of the local favorite classic rock band Potty Mouth, the power trio foundation for Boogie Fever was already in place. Members forming this trio include hard-driving drummer "Too Hip" Steve Giba, rock steady bassist Woody "Woodman" Smith, and the keyboard artistry of band leader and Boogie Fever founder, Jeff Stone aka "Duke" Hanson. After an exhaustive search, the perfect lead vocalist(s) and guitarist were finally discovered and incorporated into the Boogie Fever line-up, to round out what is fast becoming known as the best 70's era disco dance band in Southern California. Sharing lead vocals: "dynamic, soulful, inspiring, and often provocative", Lisa Furr, blended perfectly with the "power trio". The recent addition of Robert "Bobbie G." Galbreath gives Boogie Fever the flexibility of using either a male or female vocalist depending on venue preference. Included is the awesome 6-string wizardry of guitarist Todd "The Professor" McDearmon, thus completing the five-piece line-up of Boogie Fever. To see and hear Boogie Fever "live" is to transport oneself back in time twenty-five years to the heyday of the disco dance era when music was fun, sexy and always a fantastically entertaining party! What makes Boogie Fever "different" from other 70's retro dance bands as mentioned above??? Simple . . . . to attend a Boogie Fever show is to witness a completely 100% live self-contained band!!! Many if not all of the 70's era tribute bands coming and going around Southern California use mini-discs/CD's with pre-recorded instruments and vocals, playing to a click track, and often times "lip-syncing" many vocal parts . . . even complete instrument parts!!! Band leader Jeff Stone and the other band members saw this as somewhat of a deception to the paying public, (can you say Milli Vanilli?), and assembled the finest musicians, (not actors!), available to provide a truly live experience for dancing partygoers. The advantage of a totally live band is that there are no restrictions to audience interaction. Songs can be played as long or as short as needed, given the mood of the crowd, without having to rely on the time constraints of a pre-recorded mini-disc/CD. Every note Boogie Fever plays or sings is provided by real band members playing real instruments in real-time with no pre-recorded music or lip-syncing gimmickry. It's hard to believe that all this sound is generated from only five musicians on stage covering all musical/vocal parts and playing authentic 70's music from an era where many bands at that time often had ten or more players. Seeing and hearing "is" believing and awe inspiring!!! Members of Boogie Fever have held extended engagements at such high profile Los Angeles area venues as "Billboard Live", "The Coconut Teaser", the "House of Blues" on the Hollywood Strip, "Aftershock" in Studio City, "Pompeii" in Palm Springs, "The Ritz Carlton" in Pasadena and Laguna, Disneyland "After Dark", and a host of others with upcoming engagements in Las Vegas, Laughlin, Hawaii and Northern California. Boogie Fever recently hosted "Y2K New Year's Eve Celebrations" at Gordon Biersch Brewery in the City of Orange. This is Boogie Fever's second straight year providing entertainment for Gordon Biersch Brewery's with these events being highly successful. Boogie Fever . . . . the last word in live 70's Disco Dance Entertainment!!
