Wet Jackson Image

more info:

Enter the sound of Wet Jackson, with their debut album "Cracking Plastic". In an era of regurgitated rock, here is a band with a different attitude and an innovative sound. From the fuzzed out fading voice of a lost astronaut in "Cut," to the grand, but lyrically simple "Sunset," find the lost of edge of rock n' roll's lethal blade. In the music, find the will to begin again the daily revolution that is living.

Wet Jackson's guitars sound at times like they are not guitars at all; In fact, many of the sounds of Wet Jackson are not describable using current music jargon. During "Engines" you can here the pounding of the engines of the human race as they struggle and succeed. Even though these sounds sometimes seem alien, the music still honors the past by keeping steady beats rooted in rock n' roll and other genres.

Varying widely in tempos, this album contains songs that can be blasted at a nightclub, or on the other side of the spectrum, used to reminisce or to seduce. From beginning to end the music will release you from the machine of modern society, by first making you aware of it, and then showing you the route of escape.

The twelve track album contains songs that vary in length from 30 seconds to eight minutes but yet are connected by an illusive thread. This thread might be the sharp style shared among the lyrics, or perhaps simply in the originality in each tune. Wet Jackson, formed in 2001, was set with the goal of creating an original sound while integrating poetry and music. At times the lyrics tell a story, at others they follow the flow of consciousness that find us in our dreams.

The debut album is now available online at MP3.com.
