Ladies and Gentlemen...Please welcome former 1-def-ear recording artists PAWN, a regional band from the Kalamazoo Michigan area that began its existance in August of 1997. Shortly thereafter, PAWN had began to blow away stages throughout the great lakes region; has released 2 E.P.s, an L.P. & a split E.P. (with their current single recieving frequent airplay) and signed with Athens Georgia's 1-def-ear records in August of 2000 - until its untimely demise in July of 2001. Since then, acclaim has been recieved through amazing reviews, mind numbing interviews, & awards from various web sites.
The songwriting of PAWN is the product of small town neglect, big city abuse, and a variety of creative influence. This may be one of the largest causes of the underground movement that has been recently exploding upon them, as they obviously aren't your average "rock & roll band".
PAWN consists of:
Marc Keirns (23)
Steve Stone (29) - bass & vocals
Nate Mclaughlin (21) - drums
Marc Keirns played with former Red Planet recording artists "LOGIC BOMB" where his front man responsibilities included the singer/songwriter role.
Steve Stone's history as a founding member, writer, and bassist of "XERO" along with the bands "SLIVER" & "LOGIC BOMB" seems to make him the perfect addition to the band.
Nate Mclaughlin fills the space on the throne. With past experience ranging from Manhatton Project to Shag Tree (and many others), he has brought his uncomparable brand of percussion to this awesome trio.
The lineup has been filled and the shows have been booked! PAWN now has the power!
We are ready to free the world of the constant existence of tension between the "REAL PEOPLE" and the "Corporate Whore White Males" (ha ha ha) that command the "Land of the Free" with a fist of iron.
You must be asking yourself if we will do the right thing and reject the temptation of the "money makes the world go 'round" philosophy? HELL NO!! We are willing to kiss as many asses as possible to get to where we are going (I'm sure we are)!
So send in the clowns, the joke is over.
